Handstand Friend Games Pt. 1 – Add on

One of the things I love most about handstands is that they have been a means to connect with likeminded people. We’re in California right now, visiting our good friends, the Lee brothers, Josh, Morgan and Noah (see the interviews we filmed back in September 2018 when we first met them on our roadtrip down the U.S. westcoast with Josh and Morgan), who I met through Instagram.

We’ve been having loads of fun training together, so Josh and I decided to film a series of games or things that you can do together with your friends or random handbalancers you may meet on Instagram.

In this first part of the series we present the game “Add on”:

  1. the person who starts first, comes up with a move or a shape
  2. the next person repeats the same move or shape in 1. and adds a new one
  3. the game continues like this until someone makes a mistake or falls (in which case you lose of course)

This game is actually a super fun way to train endurance, without even thinking about it. When we first met the Lee’s and they introduced me to this game, it was such a revelation to experience handstanding together in this fun and still productive way.

So go out, meet your handstand friends and give this game a try! Let us know if you have other ideas for handstand games too!

The world is your playground, so just go ahead and do whatever you love!

  1. That looks so fun! I wish I had the skills. Still struggling with a regular handstand 😂. You guys rule!

    1. Hey Tom! You gotta start somewhere :). You can always find poses that are possible, depending on your level. Get creative! It also works with headstands, crow poses, or just play with legbalance to start off with!
